Jordan & Jenny Smith
Sent Ones in Thailand
Jordan and Jenny Smith are recent appointees with Upstream Sending. They have a vision for serving the Lord through medical missions in Thailand. While medical missions opportunities in Thailand are very limited and require a long-term commitment to be effective in a broader context, Jordan and Jenny understand and accept these challenges—knowing the fruit of long-term ministry will far outway any short-term costs. They are excited about where the Lord is leading them and have a heart to see the Thai people welcomed into the family of God.
Jordan and Jenny previously served at a mission hospital in Togo, West Africa as part of a post-residency program with Samaritan's Purse. There, Jenny served as a physician with the medical team; and Jordan served with the agriculture subteam. This first term abroad provided them with an extremely valuable opportunity to experience the life of a missionary family in a challenging context. There they experienced both the beauty and trails of foreign missions. When their program concluded, they continued to experience the call to long-term missions. Thailand has been a subject of conversation even before their marriage. Jenny's mother, who is Thai herself, converted out of Buddhism; so naturally this has been a source of inspiration for both Jenny and Jordan. Fueled by their previous experience and vision for the future, Jenny and Jordan yearn to see God advance his Kingdom in Thailand through the salvation of those impacted by medical missions.
Thank you for giving and partnering with us in the gospel.
